ELIGIBILITY
Young Artists Musicales (YAM) are presented in conjunction with Jeffrey Siegel’s “Keyboard Conversations” performances at GMU. The YAM series features students selected by the Liaison Committee from NVMTA keyboard events. In making these selections, the Committee considers not only the artistry of a particular performance, but also whether a piece fits the time limitations and the repertoire needs of the YAM series.

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS
The student must perform the composition for which he or she was selected. However, a student selected during one academic year to perform the following fall may change the repertoire, provided the length remains about the same. The YAM chair must approve the change.

TEACHER GUIDELINES
The Committee will send an email with performance and rehearsal details to teachers of selected performers. Teachers are responsible for contacting the students and informing them of YAM protocol and requirements. In particular, teachers must ensure that students understand that they are required to meet with Mr. Siegel following each YAM and attend his “Keyboard Conversations” concert. Each performer receives three complimentary tickets. Teachers must send each student’s biography, telephone number, email address, and street address to Amy Rothstein.
