After 2 years and 2 cancellations due to Covid-19, the Young Artist Musicales have returned to George Mason University’s Center for the Arts. Anna Hsu, student of Robert Bond Kelley, and Nicole Papenfuss, student of Silva Blazquez, were two who were originally scheduled to perform on a YAM in the spring of 2020 and then in January of this year. They finally got their opportunity on April 3rd. Nicole also stepped in as MC. Even though the audience was small, all who heard Anna and Nicole were thrilled with their performances. Let’s hope neither Covid nor anything else will prevent the YAM’s from continuing in the coming year so that more students of NVMTA teachers have an opportunity to appear in one of the musicales.
