Find A Teacher

You've reached the site for finding a music teacher in Northern Virginia. NVMTA teachers are experts on piano, voice, and symphonic instruments, and our members are located in nearly all of Washington's Virginia suburbs. Whether you're looking for instruction on piano, voice, violin, cello, clarinet, or another symphonic instrument, we probably have a teacher in your area. Scroll down to see a listing of member teachers who are currently accepting new students. When you contact the teachers, please inform them that you received their name from NVMTA. A plane icon next to a teacher's name indicates that she may be willing to travel to students' homes.

Choosing the right teacher is an important decision. For a helpful discussion of the issues involved, please consult the Music Teachers National Association at www.mtna.org. Click on "Resources and Services," then "Choosing a Music Teacher." At that site you can also access the Music Teachers National Association's Certified Member Directory and obtain a list by zip code of teachers who have met certain educational and experience standards.

If you don't see what you're looking for on the list below, or have additional questions, feel free to contact the Referral Service coordinator for your area. In many cases the coordinators can reference the general membership roles of the organization to provide additional referrals. However, please note that the coordinators cannot give personal recommendations or information on the specific policies of individual teachers. Member teachers with questions about the referral service should also contact the coordinator for their area.
